Who We Are

FinTecHub is Rwanda’s dedicated fintech accelerator. We support selected Rwandan fintech startups to scale through addressing their needs for skills, partnerships with other players, access to capital and markets, and navigating the regulatory environment.

What We Do

We offer a virtual six-month program to selected fintech startups to help them become investment ready and scale.

Entry Criteria

  • Must be a registered, post-revenue company 
  • Must be a member company of Rwanda ICT Chamber 
  • Must have a fintech product currently in the market 

Selection Criteria

  • Originality: Uniqueness in the product or business model. 
  • Team: A committed team of at least two people.  
  • Inclusion: Have the potential to enhance financial inclusion or contribute to the government’s cashless agenda. 
  • Stage: Post revenue and in operation for at least one year since product launch. 
  • Risk level: No red flags, particularly around impact and consumer protection. 
  • Response to COVID-19

What is the FinTecHub and what is it trying to achieve?

FinTecHub is a dedicated virtual fintech center that accelerates Rwanda fintech startups by providing a combination of technical assistance and business operations support. FinTecHub helps selected fintech startups to grow and scale.

How do I know if my startup qualifies to join the first FinTecHub cohort?

FinTecHub is looking for early-stage post revenue fintech startups operating in Rwanda. In particular, your company needs to have an existing product and revenue traction.

Will information about my company or innovation be kept confidential?

Yes, the FinTecHub team will not share your company information that is not already public. 

What does FintecHub expect from participating startups?

Commitment and willingness of at least one senior startup leader to actively participate in all activities and complete all the technical assistance support milestones
Active participation in virtual peer learning events and workshops that will be planned throughout the six-month implementation period.

Who are the supporters of the FinTecHub?

FinTecHub is an initiative of ICT Chamber and UNCDF in partnership with MINICT. The program is funded by Jersey Overseas Aid and COMIC Relief.
